   After every Fri­day night foot­ball game, the high school­ers take over IHOP for the mid­night hour. That could be an endorse­ment or a warn­ing to stay away, depend­ing on your perspective.

   Def­i­nitely Gus’s Good Times Deli near UT. Steamed sand­wiches, sea­soned fries and hor­ri­ble ser­vice. Yum.

   @Leslie: Bad cus­tomer ser­vice is what makes late-night din­ing so spe­cial.

   gus’s was on food for thought last night… not so sure i want to visit. ihop or denny’s for me — you can’t free refills on denny’s cap­puc­cino. too bad the clos­est one is pigeon forge.

   As much as I loves me some Vic + Bill’s, I’m going to have to go with Waf­fle House. Specif­i­cally the one on Paper­mill. There’s just some­thing about pil­ing on some greasy good­ness, some hash­browns: scat­tered, shel­lacked, smoth­ered, schlepped, cov­ered, jagged, chun­ked. Mmm. Screw wait­ing ’til late night, I need to go now.

   Awful House, Awful House, meet me at the Awful House. Espe­cially now that I don’t club any­more. It’s bet­ter than any episode of any­thing on CMT. For the ones out near Cot­toneyed Joe, think Squid­bil­lies, only the squids walk upright, sorta, mostly.

   Waf­fle House for sure…I love that place.…the smell alone is enough to fill you up!

   If you’re out west, Steak & Shake is a good ‘un.

   Oth­er­wise, it’s Vic & Bill’s. Too bad we don’t have the equiv­a­lent of Atlanta’s Majes­tic Diner around here.

   Is Ali Baba’s Time Out Deli near West­ern Plaza open late?

   And we’d always go to Perkins in Farragut.

    Hmm… late night eater­ies… my own pantry, usu­ally stocked with peanut but­ter, crack­ers, chips and salsa (unopened, I should add).

    Oth­er­wise, Wendy’s. At least the sal­ads and man­darin oranges are healthy.

    Krys­tals, Taco Bell used to be some of our favorites. What about alit­tle tototo…tinos! or some Hot Pock­ets, ding!

    I’d go with Ali Baba’s too, even though it isn’t really open that late (mid­night?). If it’s later than that, I’m all about some slid­ers at Krys­tals. Make mine with cheese, please.

    The brew­ery has agreat late nite menu, and the bar food at urban bar is ALWAYS a win­ner late at nite.

    Actu­ally if you can find a sober dri­ver, take your crew to the Iron Skil­lett truck stop off of Watt Rd exit on I-40. Won­der­ful food, gravey so thick you cant see the bis­cuits. Also Vic and Bills for the food and sites. Too bad Longs Drug store isnt open late.

    Though I live in Nashville now, I lived in K-Town for many years. When I was at UT it was Jimmy John’s on The Strip! Free Smells and mouth water­ing good­ness until 4am! And I think they even deliv­ered until then!? Yum!

    Iron Skil­lett truck stop off of Watt Rd, Perkins 24/7 cedar bluff knoxville, Waf­fle House any­where, Ihop farragut/Papermill, Steak and Shake Far­ragut, Bai­lys Sports bar until 2 or 3am, Ricks bar (Down town west) until about 3:3am (best Wings and Cheezy bacon fries), Denny’s in Pid­geon Forge, The urban Bar Old City til about 3am, Bar­leys tap Room in Old City for awe­some late night pizza and Cheezy beefy nachos

    Ali Baba Time Out Deli on Kingston Pike is where its at for the best late night food. Gus’s Good Times Deli is another great spot if you are near campus.
