The greenest day of the year has come and gone. Many were kissed (because they’re Irish of course) and some were pinched. A few didn’t even know it was St. Patrick’s Day and quite a few partied like it was 1999 in The Old City. What…you didn’t know there was a St. Patrick’s Day pub crawl in The Old City?
If you did know about it and shuffled your way into Downtown Knoxville, what did you think of the event?
The Knoxify crew saw some of you out so we expect a full review in the comments. *cough* J. Floyd, Saul Young, Laura Bower, Robby Edwards *cough*

With a large animal shelter and dog park presence we think it’s safe to say that there are a lot of pet owners in the Knoxville area. Some let Fido and/or Garfield roam the house during the day and some keep them stowed away in a pet crate. But others use pet sitting or daycare services which may sound crazy at first, but our research indicates there are a lot of businesses in our area that provide such services.
If you use a pet sitter or take your animal to a daycare service, who do you use and what has your experience been?

The weather on tap today couldn’t be a better setting for the 34th annual Dogwood Arts Festival House & Garden Show. However, this year they’re offering up a surprise in the form of a little black bag. Check out the picture above and leave a comment with what you think is in it. To see if you’re right stop by the Knoxville Convention Center today at 10am.
This post is a little free advertising for The Dogwood Arts Festival. Please note that one of the owners of Knoxify.com is closely related to this event.

Earlier this week the announcement was made that Sundown in the City will trim its schedule from 12 shows to 5.
Are you happy or sad to see to a shorter Sundown schedule?

Given the recent buzz about a national chain possibly landing in Downtown Knoxville, we thought today’s question was fitting. On a side note, one of the most popular posts here at Knoxify was/is a retail rumor.
What stores or national chains would you like to see in Knoxville?

Is this the right time to use, “when I was in school we walked to class up hill both ways in a foot of snow”? I’m sure we’ve all heard that one before. But calling school off before any type of precipitation has touched the ground? Come on. What do you think?
Were Knox County schools (and other surrounding systems) closed prematurely?

If you don’t know what you’re doing and would rather not be able to power your Prius with the touch of a finger, electricity is something you should leave to a pro. We want to know:
Who is the best licensed Electrician in Knoxville?

In just a couple of short weeks we’ll wrap up the 2000s, a decade that has shown our scruffy little town political chaos, a high-profile murder case, a spill of epic proportions and many more negative, gut wrenching stories. Unfortunately, we haven’t been around since 2000 so we haven’t had the chance to share the Knoxville positives with you. So you tell us:
Over the past decade, what Knoxville stories, projects, programs, businesses, etc. have shined above the rest as the best of the 2000s?
One that comes to our mind is the I-40 SmartFix project.
