Our very own Suzy Trotta was quoted in the USA Today regarding the current state of the Knoxville housing market. Some good stats for potential home buyers/sellers in our area.
When the Henley Bridge is renovated it will be garnished with shiny new bike lanes. A good move by the city and TDOT. Hat tip: Patrick Beeson
If you think it’s cold where you are imagine being in Doug McFalls shoes. He’s the Winter Caretaker of the Lodge high atop Mt. Leconte and according to his latest blog post it’s negative two degrees. We highly recommend you give Doug’s blog a read and if you’re feeling really humble, send him some hand warmers. Hat Tip: Michael Silence
You knew it was coming and now it’s here. Renaldo Woolridge, aka Swiperboy and UT basketball player, is famous for his hoops and his music videos. He just laid a new track, Never Leave You Like Kiffin, that we hope Southern California radio stations are playing non-stop. Good work Swiperboy.
No question for today. Be safe if you have to travel and have fun if you’re off and get to play in the snow!
On Tuesday, December 1st from 6 – 9 p.m. in the Square Room at Café 4 — that would be tomorrow — the Social Media Club Knoxville will hold their Winter Panel which is titled “Social Media Liability, Ethics & Policy”. The fine folks over at Tennessee Bloggers For Education have been asking us to spread the word about their program for a while. And what a great program it is. Head on over to their donation page and look at all the ways we can help local teachers.
Kim Henry, President of City People, dropped us a reminder that the 2009 City People Downtown Home Tour is right around the corner. On October 11th, from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm, you will be able to tour more than 15 residences located throughout Downtown Knoxville. Units are housed in everything from carefully restored historical buildings to loft warehouse space to beautiful new construction.
A couple of weeks ago the Tennessean reported that A&E is in hot water over their use of Knoxville’s beloved song, Rocky Top. Sounds like someone better pay up or it’s going to get rocky.
If you plan on traveling anytime soon and just happen to use Twitter, you might want to give the latest TDOT accounts a follow: @Knoxville511 and @improving66. Both accounts stream updated traffic and construction info 24/7.
