County Clerk Interview: Amy Henley-Vandergriff

From the Legislative branch to the Executive branch we go with Amy Henley-Vandergriff who is running for Knox County Clerk.

1. Introduce yourself to Knoxville, who are you, and why are you running?

My name is Amy Henley-Vandergriff and I am running for Knox County Clerk in the upcoming democratic primary. I am running because I believe I can make a positive impact on the way the citizens of Knox County view government.

2. We think it’s better knowing what not to do rather than having an extensive plan. What areas or interests would benefit Knox County not to venture into?

I do not think Knox County should allow employees to get paid for not doing anything. Also I believe inconsistencies in job performance should not be overlooked or swept under the rug.

3. What 5 things could you not live without?

Finally, there is nothing I couldn’t live without. However, without the love and support of God and my family I would be lost.
