How Should Knoxville’s Civic Leaders Spend Federal Stimulus Dollars?

Mid-February we reported on the 35+ “shovel-ready” Knoxville projects that are seeking a piece of the stimulus pie. Now that money is beginning to flow from Uncle Sam it has to go somewhere.

How would you like the civic leaders of Knoxville to spend federal stimulus money?

This week there’s an excellent addition to our question: Stimulate Local. Our friends over at Chattarati have developed an online tool to help “average citizens petition their civic leaders to spend federal stimulus dollars with local vendors and to transparently share information about how those funds are spent.” Start a petition why dontcha?

  1. @knoxify re: http://knoxify.com/how-should-knoxvilles... – personally? Lost faith in civic, state and fed officials to hear the little guy, group, orgs, biz.

  2. OK this is supposed to be economic stimulus. How do any of the top 5 (of the 35) stimulate the economy? How about bolstering CDFIs in the MSA? How about a program based on the community block grants to encourage new SMALL businesses and bolster struggling SMALL businesses?
