  1. I’m going to say “no,” because while optimism is great, heavy debt load is not great. All the optimists in the world can’t undo our debt load. All the optometrists in the world can’t seem to see how bad this is, either.

    Just because people are paying to get their car washed says nothing about the economy and more about our misplaced priorities.

    It’s like saying “people bought a lot of SUV’s in the past 10 years, which means more people are getting outdoors and going to the mountains.” Or, “people bought a lot of SUV’s, which means we have a steady, reliable source of plentiful, cheap gas for the forseeable future.”
