Our Picks for East TN’s Best Awards and More

Another year, another readers poll by the good folks over at the News Sentinel. The ballots have been unleashed for the 2010 East Tennessee’s Best Readers Poll and whatya know, there’s Knoxify’s very own Suzy Trotta and Laura Bower nominated for Best Local Blogger. We love ’em both so take your pick if your vote is for one of them.

As for the rest of the ballot (which is actually pretty good this year) here are our recommendations:

Local Tweeter – Saul Young. Hands down the funniest person on Twitter. Period.

Free Wi-Fi Spot – jAVERDE Coffee. Their coffee rocks and so does their internet connection. Ask for Brian.

Ice Cream/Frozen Yogurt – Bruster’s. Graham Central Station FTW!

Margarita – Pelancho’s Mexican Grill. One of the few places that actually puts a lot of good tequila in your drink.

Happy Hour – Aubrey’s. We don’t know if it’s the large patio, good people or great beer selection that makes this place legit but it’s a happy hour destination. Who says happy hour is only an hour?

Hair & Beauty Salon – Belleza Salon and Spa. All three people that own this site go to Belleza. Need we say more?

Men’s Clothing Store – M.S. McClellan. Just the right mix of old school and new school. The only place in Knoxville that carries one of our faves, vineyard vines.
