Dane Baker, Publisher of the Knoxville Voice, dropped us a line alerting the Knoxify guys that KnoxVoice.com was ready and willing. To serve up “Knoxville’s Only Independent Alternative” voice that is.
The new site boasts tons of good stories as well as a new Knoxville-centric job section, KnoxJobsLive. It’s worth a look.
During our January review we mentioned that our original intent for Knoxify was to serve as a message board/forum for Knoxville residents to post about their day-to-day lives. Since our readership has grown to over 4,600 people we’ve been questioning bringing back the forum idea.
Would you like to see the Knoxify guys develop a Knoxville-centric forum?

We recently upgraded the site to WordPress 2.5. Apologies for any errors you might come across but if you do, please send us a note on-the-contact.

I stood up last night after watching most of the UT basketball game and said…I have had enough! I walked out of Casey’s house without saying a word, disappointed.
I told him this morning that when I walked out of his apartment with around 4 min. remaining, I spotted 5 other men walking around flailing their hands in the air and cursing. I find it ironic that so many people felt the same way and basically acted in the same manner.
It was a great year for the Vols, but let’s be honest:
As a Knoxvillian, how did you react when you found out the Vols would again not make it to the Elite 8?

Before the I-40 Downtown bottleneck gets better, it’s only going to get worse. TDOT has outlined the entire project on their site and are even providing high-tech web cameras to publicize the progress.
To help better answer the question, “what the heck is going on with I-40”, Don Jacobs of the News Sentinel has launched his Navigating SmartFIX40 blog. Don writes:
To help drivers and the community better understand the most expensive highway project in the state’s history, I am fielding questions about the SmartFIX40 project that for 14 months will change the way people get around Knoxville.
If you don’t make it over there today, you’ll have 14 months to visit it later.

Would anyone be offended if I tossed out a shameless plug? *crickets* I’ll continue on then.
This weekend a Knoxville-centric website launched called Knox’d. This site lets you see the latest headlines from the best media outlets in Knoxville. For free of course.
Patrick Beeson puts it best:
Knox’d has one goal: to aggregate the latest news and information (including jobs, real estate and classified listings), in one location. It seeks to fill the technology gap between the folks that use RSS (me), and the folks that don’t. The latter accounts for the vast majority of Internet users, according to a Pew Internet report.
So if you want to read about the news, blogs, politics, local business, sports, health or shop the classifieds for a new sofa or job, check out Knoxd.com.

Spring time in Knoxville is falling upon us and hot Summer days are right around the corner. We’re curious:
What is your favorite recreational hot spot in Knoxville during the Spring and Summer months?
