Thank you for the great article, Laura! Although many soldiers are like Wiley - humbly preferring to quietly serve without much fanfare - I know that they do appreciate the love and support. Our family is so grateful, and I can't say THANK YOU enough.

Great post Laura! I see such frequent news coverage of soldiers returning from the Middle East with hordes of family and friends cheering and crying and waving flags at the homecoming. It's amazing to think soldiers returning from WWII had no one to meet them, hug them and cheer for them. I'm glad their service is being recognized, even if it's late in coming. Thanks to all who serve.

Miss you!

Thank you Laura for a very timely read and thoughtful comments. I don't think we can ever really appreciate enough the men and women of our Armed Forces, but we can keep trying. Your story helps. Also, without sounding too crash, thanks for noting the sponsors of HonorAir. Companies want to be good corporate citizens and to support worthwhile initiatives in the community, but they must also follow sound business practices, which includes measuring ROI. One simple mention of a sponsor's name in a blog moves the PR meter from none to some. In other words, that's one small keystroke for the writer and one giant leap for company's continued investment in good deeds.
