Every now and then there is someone you meet that sparks enthusiasm, creativity, drive, and innovation…that person takes you or your project to the next level. Alex Oliver has been that guy for Knoxify and now, he needs a boost from our fan base to take home the Young & Free Tennessee Spokesperson gig.
In writing this review my gut is wanting to swing towards an unhealthy diatribe about the sad state of pop music. Not as a dismissal of what Jag Star does and represents, but the fact that they haven’t broke to a number one download in the iTunes Store. Yet no talent fools like Katy Perry and Kesha [notice no dollar sign] strike it rich.
But instead of focusing on the negative, let’s move on to the positive.

Chad Huskey’s ongoing search for the best places to find beer in Maryville
My quest to find beer in Maryville, has taken me back to the 1950s. No, I don’t own a Delorean, and no, even though I keep begging my wife to let me install a Flux Capacitor in our minivan, she still hasn’t approved. I went back to the 1950s via the more convenient, Hotrod’s 50’s Diner, near downtown Maryville.
Our very own Suzy Trotta was quoted in the USA Today regarding the current state of the Knoxville housing market. Some good stats for potential home buyers/sellers in our area.

Over the past couple of weeks we have posted content that, in some eyes, posed a conflict of interest. Let’s take a second to navigate a minefield, shall we?
First, we’d like to point to our static Disclosure page. It has been in existence for quite some time with little changes. Give it a review if you have time.
For a while now we, the authors and owners of Knoxify.com, have been struggling to define conflicts of interest and how they’re going to shape our content going forward. This site was started to showcase what makes Knoxville great and we have close to 600 posts furthering that mission. We publish this blog as a labor of love which means we have day jobs to help keep the lights on.
Some of us are healthcare professionals, some are PR moguls, some are engineers, some are media people and some are real estate rock stars. From time to time the things that make Knoxville great land in our portfolios as clients, friends, colleagues, etc. When this happens we have to walk a fine line.

David Keith got into acting to meet girls. Or so he claims.
Keith explains that he never got involved in the emotional side of his career, meaning he didn’t buy into the Hollywood hype that derails so many young actors. Nor does acting define his identity. “I got paid to have fun,” he says with his trademark crooked grin. So when Brian Salesky, executive director of Knoxville Opera, made Keith “an offer he couldn’t refuse,” he agreed to tackle a very different kind of role – that of the Pirate King in Gilbert & Sullivan’s beloved operetta, The Pirates of Penzance, coming to the Tennessee Theatre March 12 – 14.
