Since Tennessee’s annual sales tax holiday starts at 12:01 a.m on Friday and ends Sunday at 11:59 p.m, we thought we better get our Weekender out early this week. It’s the perfect opportunity to stock up on school clothes for the kids or pick up dad a new laptop.

Friday, August 6th
Get Your Blue Slip. For just $10 you can head Downtown to the Blue Slip Winery and sample their signature Smokey Mountain Apple wine. They’re located at 105 B West Jackson Avenue.
Summer Movie Magic Classic Film Series. If you’re not too hopped up on wine, swing by the Tennessee Theatre for a showing of The African Queen. Single tickets are only $8.
Saturday, August 7th
Tomato Tasting. It’s no secret that good, homegrown tomatoes are produced in our area. Even if it’s 100 degrees on Saturday make your way to Market Square to sample over 30 types of tomatoes, all grown by farmers market vendors.
Dog/Car Wash. Dogs get dirty. Dogs get in cars and the cars get dirty. Bring your car and your dog to Pet Supplies Plus at 7101 Kingston Pike starting at 3pm and they’ll rub-a-dub-dub both of them.
