Downtown and even West Knoxville have some great date destinations but where do you take your loved one to escape the city?

Asheville is great destination. Less than two hours away, the downtown is awesome and there are plenty of great places to stay. We usually go a few times each year.
Blowing Rock, NC is pretty nice. A little old school, but a very friendly, warm place.
This time of year the corn mazes are forming, the trees are changing and all the little communities are having their county fairs. Spending 30 minutes driving up and down highways like 11, 70, 321, 441 and 411 will reveal tons of interesting opportunities just outside of Knoxville. Watching Vonore high school football or going to the corn maze in Greenback might just be the thing to do!
I’ll second Asheville, but also perhaps a picnic in the Great Smoky Mountains.

There is a giant treehouse in Crossville. http://www.roadsideamerica.com/tip/13746
The Dancing Bear Lodge in Townsend. Fabulous for dinner. You can just dine or choose to stay the night as well.
