Knoxville’s first annual Free to Breathe 5K is just a few weeks away. In addition to the calendar listing below, I wanted to let you know about two Knoxville-area residents who are making a difference in the lives of lung cancer fighters through their participation in the walk.
No one deserves lung cancer – and no one believes this more than oncology nurse Trish Craft. The organizer of Knoxville’s Breath of Life support group and a witness to the heartbreak lung cancer causes, Trish thrives on offering compassion to those she counsels.
Concord resident Cecil Presnell found hope through Breath of Life. A Vietnam veteran, retired executive and grandfather to 10, Cecil dedicated his life to serving others. When he was diagnosed in 2008, the community was there to serve him.
Both Cecil and Trish will give back as they support other lung cancer survivors, fighters and friends at Free to Breathe. The run/walk is quickly approaching, and will be held on October 16, 2010, in the Village Green Subdivision.
