Our latest addition to the Knoxville Neighborhood Guide took us Far West, otherwise known as the Town of Farragut. Fox Den is an upscale golf and country club community that was originally developed in the late 1960s and 1970s and was considered by some back in the day to be the most prestigious neighborhood in west Knox County.

As a resident of The Den I must point out that while it is near the western line of Knox County due to its proximity to I-40 the drive to downtown takes only 15 minutes. This is a shorter distance time wise than many places along Northshore Drive due to the traffice involved.
That’s a good point, Brad. And compared to a lot of cities, Knoxville in general is fairly quick and easy to navigate, so commuting downtown from our suburbs is a breeze compared to a lot of other places.
Fox Den is the neighborhood most would aspire to live in. It is the combination of large estate living with country club luxury. Many of the homes are remodeled with few expenses spared, thus making it a modern day utopia on one of Tennessee’s only PGA toured courses. If you are of the lucky few to obtain one of these gems, you’ll find why these homes are in such high demand…… and short in supply!
