Spring into Fashion… Knoxville-style

With the temperatures creeping into the 70-80’s lately, it’s got me hankering (yep, that’s a real word) to shed my pea coat for sandals and sundresses… permanently. Here’s my breakdown of favorite 2011 fashion trends for the ladies. I love to support local boutiques so whenever possible, I’ll profile where you can find these trends in Knoxville.

The Trench The trench coat is a timeless staple because it looks good with just about everything, anytime. From dresses to skirts, this spring, I’m seeing a new spin on it just about everywhere! Neutrals and Nudes Neutrals and nudes can be a bit tricky without a tan, so for now, I’m indulging in mostly tops that can be paired with jeans, leggings, etc. Cut Out Shoes Fun and flirty, this trend seems to work best in neutral/nude shades. Preppy From seersucker suits to madras skirts, we Southerners love our preppy attire. Here are a few pieces to update your wardrobe. Bonus tip: Lily Pulitzer now has a “Lil White Dress” section – perfect for baby showers and summer dinner parties! Nautical Similar to preppy, clothing with a nautical flair is fresh and cheery – and perfect for any outing to Knoxville’s river and lakes. I don’t pretend to be a fashion expert so let me know – what’d I miss? What are the latest spring trends that have got you drooling?
