All of this talk about the Rossini Festival has our stomachs all in a knot. But around Knoxville you don’t have to wait for an annual festival to enjoy good Italian food.
Someone mentioned Savelli’s on Sutherland Ave to us yesterday so we want your opinion now.
What’s the best Italian restaurant or eatery in Knoxville?

Hands down, Louie’s. Best spaghetti meat sauce ever.
I’ll vote Naples because it’s the only Italian restaurant I’ve been to in Knoxville. I would have said Pasta Trio, but they’re no longer in existence.
I LOVED Pasta Trio too, Patrick! Let’s vote for it in absentia 🙂
Naples by far!
Altruda’s is pretty darn good too … http://www.altrudas.com/
Naples, Naples, Naples.
Gotta go with Altruda’s, I could make a meal out of just the salad and garlic bread balls!!
Altruda’s. Best alfredo I have ever had.
Naples. Hands down.
I’m going with Altruda’s followed very closely (nipping at its heels) by Savelli’s. Naples fell off our shortlist of Italian favorites after our last visit there. Very disappointing.
Another vote for Savelli’s. Followed by Altruda’s.
Savelli’s used to be my favorite restaurant in Knoxville, not just for Italian. But the quality of the food and service has gone so far down hill I will never be back, and I encourage everyone I know to stay away from it as well. If you make the mistake of going there and have a problem, good luck speaking to a manager about it. There was not one in the store the most recent and final time I ate there and I gave up on ever reaching one after calling several times (at different non-peak times) a day for a week. That place is a joke.
1 vote for savelli’s. heck, i was there last night and ran into bruce pearl lol!
#1 Altrudas Just Wonderful!, with the garlic rolls and great sauces for your favorite meat/eggplant!!!
#2 Naples I love the food at this romantic spot! Â And the prices are very reasonable!
Brand new reinvention of the old Cappuccino’s on Kingston Pike. Great atmosphere killer wine list and modern delicious authentic Italian fare created by Boston native chef Aliose. You have got to try this place.
