Upon the success of the first annual Knoxville 24 Hour Film Festival in 2010, Knoxville Films is bringing the festival back beginning this Friday. The festival kicks off at 6:00 P.M. on Friday, May 27, at Relix Variety Theatre, where the organizers will announce the three criteria for the entries. The filmakers then have 24 hours to write, shoot, and edit a 4-minute film. From 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. on Saturday, May 28, the festival will accept submissions. A party is to follow with Knoxville musical staples the Jaystorm Project, Taylor Brown, and Jonathan Sexton and the Big Love Choir.
On Saturday, June 4 at the Bijou Theatre, the finale commences with the showing of all films in competition, with an award ceremony to follow. The gala will be hosted by Lauren Lazarus and Brent Thompson of Knox ivi, with a performance by The Black Cadillacs.
