If you live in Knoxville or plan to visit the area on Thursday, September 10, I encourage you all to check out Knoxville Twestival!
Knoxville Twestival is part of a charitable event taking place in communities all around the world. Twestival uses the power of the local Twitterverse to encourage community members to come out in person to a fun event to be held at the Knoxville Zoo on September 10, 2009 from 7-10pm, and to donate money to a designated local charity: The Salvation Army of Knoxville.
So what will $25 get you? A fantastic evening at the Knoxville Zoo, supporting the Salvation Army of Knoxville and networking with Knoxville’s social media elite.
In addition, there will be:
- Live music (Todd Steed, Randall Brown of Quartjar, Leslie Woods & Dark Mountain Orchid, and others TBA)
- Silent auction
- Food
- Drinks
- …and more!
You don’t wanna miss it, so get your tickets now at http://www.amiando.com/knoxtwestival! But hurry, tickets are limited!
One-hundred percent of all ticket sales will be given directly to The Salvation Army of Knoxville.
Knoxville Twestival is a joint initiative by Social Media Club of Knoxville, Knoxville Overground, and the Knoxville Social Media Association.

That sounds like a good time, too bad I will miss it because I am getting married that weekend. The Salvation Army is a great charity and I hope a lot of people show up for the event.
This is a great thing the Social Media Club, Knoxville Overground & Knoxville Social Media Association are doing. Good for them. Plus, the music line up is pretty sweet.
Combining Social media and charity is such a great idea, social media can really make it easier for a charity to raise funds for their projects.
